Well hello there, fellow artists! It’s the Imikimi Team here, back once again with yet another awesome (hopefully) feature! Today we have one of the most amazing talents we’ve had the pleasure of featuring here on the blog. His works will surely dazzle you, bending your mind in the most wonderful of ways. And that artist is Erik Johansson.

Born in Sweden but currently residing in Berlin, Germany, Erik is a professional photography and photo retoucher. Though, admittedly, you aren’t likely to find any of his works adorning the cover of the glamor magazines covering the newspaper stands. While his works are indeed beautiful, they are also something more, representing an alternate view of the world we know. With a child-like sense of imagination in tow, Erik’s works transport the viewer to a fun, quirky world.

His works can be found on his website. The moment you first cast your gaze upon his website, you’ll be presented with a rolling slideshow of just a few of his works. Each work is a wonderful piece of imagination. Making use of his trusty Canon digital camera, along with Photoshop, Erik is able to capture beautiful images and then manipulate them to craft the alternate reality that he desires.

You’ll see a backhoe playing a game of Tic-Tac-Toe by digging into the pavement, a man pulling an asphalt road behind him, a fish holding a homestead along his back, and much more. These are just a few of the amazing examples that can be seen, but even more are available by clicking the “Portfolio” link at the top. You can then chose to view his personal works, commissioned works, and illusions.

While all of his works are special, we personally find his personal works to be the most fantastic of the bunch. Here his imagination is free to wander as it likes, not reigned by the desires of clients. So here you are getting his pure, unfiltered creativity (which is always the best kind). Once you’ve clicked whichever category of his work you prefer, go ahead and click on any thumbnail image to bring up a lovely lightbox-style frame for the images. From there, simply press the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate from one image to the next.

And you’ll certainly want to take time to browse through each one, as each is just as delightful as the last. A common theme running throughout is perhaps that not everything is exactly as it seems, and to question our surroundings before accepting them at face value. And perhaps more importantly, that world often isn’t as boring as it would first appear.

Whew, that was a fun one! As always, we want to the time to thank you for stopping by the official blog of Imikimi. Please stop by again soon as we have more fresh content for you hungry eyes. Until next time!

Best Wishes,
The Imikimi
